I came to NZ 8 yrs ago from Philadelphia - a city with a large Italian/Sicilian population. I grew up on great pizza and was going through serious withdrawal here in Aucks. I eventually found Gina's, then Al Volo... and this kept me placated. Then I found Epilito's and was in heaven. A good pizza, like a good house, depends on it's foundation. If you don't get the dough, sauce and cheese right, anything you put on top is doomed to failure. Chicalita gets it RIGHT! So much so that she recently won Best Pizza in New Zealand. And that using a convection oven rather than her glorious stone oven. Even hobbled she beat out everyone else. That says it all.

this is easily the best pizza i have ever had, and trust me, i'm serious about my pizza. al volo is worth paying a little more for. quality, fresh imported ingredients such as buffalo mozzarella, speck, even the authentic italian flour used to make their dough. highly recommend

This great little pizza shop does GLUTEN FREE pizzas and lasagne! I was so excited to find it as, on my diet, I hadn't had pizza for ages. Their food is great - pastas too, and coffee, biscotti and fabulous desserts (chocolcate mousse, tiramisu and pannacotta). I highly recommend Pizza Contenta. Friendly service too!

All of my neighbours have been raging about this place. The dough is all handtossed and so the crust really makes the pizza. Also very generous on their gourmet toppings. My favourites so far are the Southern Lake Rise (smoked salmon) and the No Cheese Wayne with cheese (tandoori chicken)

I just went there today on their opening day. Had a special at $11.50. Not too bad. Had two olives. I think maybe a third might have been nice. A nice overall level of spicyness. Probably the best Pizza I've had since I was in Australia. Could have been just a touch larger (if it would still fit in the box).
